Q: What conditions do chiropractors and physical therapists treat?

A: We commonly treat conditions such as back / neck pain, headaches / migraines, shoulders / joint pain, sports injuries / rehabilitation, lifestyle injuries, workmen’s comp and motor vehicle accidents. They also address issues like sciatica, arthritis, post-operative rehabilitation, myofascial tightness and balance disorders. 

Q: What can I expect during my first appointment?

A: Your initial visit typically lasts about 45 minutes to an hour and includes a thorough co-evaluation of your condition. The providers will take a detailed history, perform an examination, discuss a personalized treatment plan best suited for you and your goals and treat accordingly. 

Q: Is chiropractic and physical therapy covered by insurance?

A: Many insurance plans cover chiropractic and physical therapy services. It’s important to check with your insurance provider or send us your insurance card to send off to our billing department to get the appropriate information regarding your coverage and any out-of-pocket costs. Chiropractic and Physical Therapy are in network with almost all insurance companies.

Q: Do WE accept HSA / FSA for chiropractic and physical therapy care and Other services in house?

A: Yes, at ChiroFlex and MProve we accept cash, credit, debit, HSA & FSA (which we can provide a superbill / invoice for you to be reimbursed). We also offer packages and recurring monthly membership plans if you wish as well.

Q: What should I wear to my physical therapy and / or chiropractic appointment?

A: Wear comfortable, loose-fitting clothing that allows easy movement. Athletic wear, such as shorts, leggings, and t-shirts, is ideal. For treatments involving specific areas, please wear attire that provides easy access to those body regions. 

Q: What is shockwave therapy and how can it help me?

A: Shockwave therapy is a non-invasive treatment that uses acoustic waves to promote healing in injured tissues by producing natural stem cells. It is effective for conditions like plantar fasciitis, tendinitis, and other musculoskeletal disorders or any tissue innervates from blood by stimulating blood flow and cell regeneration. 

Q: What type of patients do we see / treat?

A: We work with a wide diverse range of people, athletes of all levels and active lifestyle individuals. Dr. Derek specializes in addressing spinal and primarily musculoskeletal issues, including back pain and headaches, through manual adjustments and manual therapy techniques. Dr. Gavin empowers individuals in recovering from injuries, surgeries, or musculoskeletal complaints. He focus’s on restoring movement with including functional, proper and performance based and function through loading exercises and manual techniques.

Q: Can I fill out the necessary paperwork before my appointment?

A: Yes, ChiroFlex and MProve send out the paperwork online via email before your appointment. You can also include other additional files within the intake form for example; your insurance card, drivers license and imaging. This can help streamline the check-in process and ensure that your visit starts on time.  

Q: What techniques do chiropractors use for treatment and are adjustments safe?

A: Dr. Derek uses a variety of techniques including spinal manipulation, joint mobilization, soft tissue therapy, and exercise prescription. Dr. Derek practices the Diversified technique to find what adjustment is best suited for you based on the needs and condition. Adjustments are generally safe when performed by a trained and licensed chiropractor. They are non-invasive and have a low risk of complications. Most patients experience relief after treatments, though some may experience mild soreness, which typically resolves within a day or two. 

Q: What is Dry Needling? Is it an extra cost?

A: Dry Needling is the use of microfilament needles used to target trigger points in muscles and inflammation in joints and tendons by having a physiologic and neurologic effect on the soft tissues in the area the needles are used. ChiroFlex and MProve often use Dry Needling w/ Electrical Stimulation and this treatment method is very effective in treating a wide range of injuries/ailments. It is an additonal $20 to your visit to help us cover the cost of needle disposal.
